The Rev. George Coyne, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory, said today that “intelligent design� is not science and should be taught when religion or cultural history are taught. The Vatican’s chief astronomer went on to say that mixing intelligent design with science was was akin to mixing apples with oranges.
