Australian drug trafficker Njuyen Tuong Van, 25, has been hanged in Singapore this morning. The Australian government had repeatedly plead for clemency and protests were held by thousands of people. Australian Prime Minister John Howard said: "I hope the strongest message that comes out of this ... is to the young of Australia. Don't have anything to do with drugs, don't use them, don't touch them, don't carry them, don't traffic in them." Van was hung at dawn in Singapore's Changi prison. At the time of the execution, a large church bell in Melbourne -- Van's home city -- tolled 25 times to represent every year of his life. Source: news.yahoo.com
