Lifeguards were notified of a shark measuring four metres-long and the beaches of South Maroubra to North Maroubra were evacuated instantly.Head lifeguard Peter Halcrow alerted his crew on the beach that he seen a shark 500m from South Maroubra. Mr Halcrow said that 15,000 fled the beaches of South Maroubra to North Maroubra. Peter also stated that one of his lifeguards reported the shark swimming close by the patrol boat that stands guard on the lookout for sharks. A second sighting was made around 4:30PM when an airplane passed above the beaches of South Maroubra. Now for a airplane to see a shark, you know this thing must be very big. Source:
