Authorities in France have announced that an antiterrorism operation yesterday resulted in the arrest of some 20 suspects. The operation involved armed counterterrorism agents performing raids on homes and Internet cafes in Paris and the Oise region. The group of suspects included people from Tunisia, Algeria, Moroccans and France and was made up of both men and women. Some were known to be Islamic militants, whilst others were common criminals, caught up when their two groups joined together. The sweep was the result of months of surveillance of an alleged terrorist network, which was believed to be preparing to carry out attacks. Source: news.yahoo.com
