I'm writing an essay and the question is "Are television, movies and music responsible for teen violence?". My answers is 'no', and I have 2 points so far, and I need a third. They are:

1) The parents may be responsible because they decide what their children are exposed to
2) If this were true, it would not explain the violence of children and adults
3) ?

If anyone has any ideas to help they would be appreciated.

no, tv dont control us we control ourselves. People on tv are not our parents. Our Teen guardians's tell us not everything on tv is real. What gets us teens into violence is peer presure on other kids, or\and somebody getting on our nerves. Just remember when you was a teen what made you mad, and have violence.

It is the parents responsibility to teach right and wrong if the parents gives the child morals, the kid won't look to tv or music or be easily influenced by it. When I was a teenager I could watch a violent tv program without copying what was on the screen because my parents taught me right from wrong and I knew what is reality and what is fantasy.
Parents should also teach their kids about consequences so they will know that if they do something wrong they will have to pay for it.
