Topic review - How do I get baptized in another orthodox parish?

You should talk to your local priest. He will probably need to help you arrange a baptism elsewhere. Several reasons: if the parishes are under different bishops; if he has helped you in your catechesis; the other priest does not particularly know you or your understanding of the church.

Always start with the priest.

Blessings, and welcome home!

You would need to talk to your priest- and get his permission.

If your are already signed in to that parish - I suppose yes. On the other hand it would be a nice idea ti invite your priest to your baptism.

I would like to be baptized in an orthodox parish that is closer to my friends and family who cannot travel otherwise to come to my baptism. Do I need to get my priest's permission?
