Im not sure about Donna Reed or Barbra Streisand either. They dont seem to fit that bill. A teen idol is one idolized by teens.

Id agree with Judy Garland Marilyn Monroe Shirley Temple and perhaps Raquel Welch and Grace Kelly.

How about Natalie Wood?

Maybe at one time Connie Francis would have been considered a teen idol.

How about Molly Ringwald? She definitely had some kind of teen idolization.

Farrah Fawcet is another one but she was a TV teen idol. Perhaps Sally Field and Patty Duke would fit in this category as well. Even Marie Osmond could fit.

Debbie Gibson had that kind of status too but she was the music equivalent.

Sandra Dee would have fit the movie teen idol criteria I think.

Perhaps Kelly McGillis Kathleen Turner and Leah Thompson would fit the movie teen idols too.

How about Tuesday Weld and Yvette Mimieux?

I think Im stuck most likely because I think of males as the teen idols more than females. If you go by the socalled pinup girls youd have to add Betty Grable and Rita Hayworth to the list. I think Joan Leslie was another big one. This list though would be reasonably long.

I just remembered people like Petula Clark Brigitte Bardot Julie Christie Ali MacGraw and Twiggy from the 60s. I dont know that they would hit the top ten but apparently they were very popular for a time.
