   okay the BEST series ever is The Mortal Instrument series by Cassandra Clare it includes City of Bones 1 City of Ashes 2 and City of Glass 3 they are about shadow hunters which are like demon hunters. and there are so many twists and turns in these books and they are full of action and forbidden romance. They are so good I would defiantly recommend them

   the blue is for nightmares series by Laurie Stolarz these are Blue is for Nightmares White is for Magic Silver is for Secrets and Red is for Rememberance. these are about a girl who has these dreams that horriable things happens to her friends and this has happened before and one of her friends died so now shes trying to stop them from coming true

   those are all I can think of right now

   and i hated the vampire diaries too

   You might like any of the books written by Robin McKinley they are all wonderful. Garth Nixs Abhorson trilogy is enjoyable. I am absolutely in love with Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder and the two following books Magic Study and Fire Study. And of course as you said you cant go wrong with classics. If you liked Pride and Prejudice which is also my favorite book of all time you might like Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion. I personally liked Persuasion a little better. Jane Eyre is an amazing novel as well as Wuthering Heights. If you want adventure you could read The Count of Monte Cristo. Fahrenheit 451 and 1984 are also great scifi novels.

   these were great books…you could probly even read some off of this site below. its my favorite i use it to read books all the time its amazing
