ACNE/BLEMISH COVERING MAKE-UP

posted in Teens |

I’ve had a lot of requests from people who suffer from acne asking me to film a tutorial on the best way to cover their skin with make-up, so I hope that all of you who have been holding out for it find it useful. There’s a lot more information, links and tips about this subject on my site at www.lisae.me.uk

Hi, welcome back to another episode of YouTips Forum where I answer questions from my viewers in a video to help others who may have the same concerns. This is a two-part video, so be sure to watch Part One. In this video I answer questions on how to deal with troublesome pimples and acne. I also talk about how to keep your make up brushes clean and how to deal with flaky chapped lips. If you have questions you would like answered in future forum videos, please subscribe and forward your questions to me in a personal message. All user names are kept confidential. I know I’m not Lisa and could never hope to be as great but I would recommend that you find a facial primer used to fill in your pores. This means when you apply your makeup, your face is smoother and the big pores will be a lot less obvious. :-)

Try bringing the mirror (if it is transportable) into a room with natural light in. I have the same problem as my bedroom is very badly lit, so I took the mirror into my bathroom and now I don’t have to keep checking it looks ok in all lights because I find the natural light makes my makeup look really fake, so I changed the product and started applying a lot less. Hope this helped :-)

I have a big huge blue veine running on my face… I use all the products but when I put the concealer, the veine is still there ! How can I get rid of it using makeup because with surgery, I risk loosing my eye.
Thank you I love what you do…

Hi Lisa, do you know how i can deal with the hairs inbetween my eyebrows while applying foudation? When i apply foundation you can clearly see any makeup or concealer stuck in the tiny eyebrow hairs directly in the center between the brows. I try to wipe it away afterward but that tends to dry my skin out and make it look flaky. What is a suggestion for this?

Lisa, I have really bad acne in the center of my face. And the spots aren’t flat so when the sun hits my face or when I’m under a lamp I tend to get these shadows under the bumps, and it looks very weird. What should I do?

Every time i put make up on top of spots and i look in the mirror in natural light, it looks horrendous and even more noticeable? But in dim light, it looks perfect? How can I fix this

hello lisa, i love your approach to makeup for skin with acne. thank you. i’d like to know how you would cover ice-pick acne scars, those that look like dents in the skin. i find that foundation and concealers tend to pool in them as the skin gets oily and/or sweats. would using a brush vs fingers vs sponge cover them better? what is it that one should look for in primers, foundations, concealers, powders, etc to cover these acne scars?

Hi! thank you for this useful video. By the way, I hear lots of people keep on talking about acne remedy called Acnezilax Secrets (do a google search), but I’m not sure if it is really good. Have you thought about Acnezilax Secrets? I’ve heard several extraordinary things about it and my sister finally break free from her acne, using it, but she refuses to tell me :(

I have watched this video twice and added it to my favourites.. So informative. Thank you.

I have one question, if you could, what is the staying power of this technique since you used so little setting powder? would it last on a night-out? and if not, would using a product like urban decay fix spray disrupt all the hard work?

For acne prone skin, you should clean your brushes every day – Olive oil and anti-bacterial dish soap. Air dry.

Scabs are an annoying part of acne. The thing is that if you do pick them they will come back worse and larger than before. This sucks I know and it means that there isn’t much that you can do about them.

Hi, this is very common as you enter adolescence. The best thing to do is use a gentle cleanser to wash your face daily that helps remove oil like Cetaphil and an acne treatment each night. Persagel is a good one. Don’t go to sleep without washing your face because this clogs your pores and leads to further pimples.

Hi, you can try using a bit of liquid foundation or concealer over that area. Dab it on with your finger and gently spread it out.

I’m sure there is some type of cosmetic surgery or application that can be done, but if that’s not your cup of tea and it’s not mine either, then better to embrace it :o)

Hi, there really is no way to remove a lip scar. I know they can look puffy. Wearing lipstick helps as does lip gloss because it helps to reflect light away from it. Many times things we focus on that we don’t like about ourselves, are the very things that give us a cute little quirky difference from the next person and often end up being things people like about us.

Hi, I’ve never heard of coffee changing the color of a person lips. I’m sorry, I wish I could help. Is it possible to coat your lips with lipstick or vaseline to protect them from the coffee. I’m also not a coffee drinker so my experience with it is limited to watching other people drink it. Again, sorry I can’t help.
