Question by -7: when a pedophile is chatting with a teen…………?
lets say one of those psychos on internet is chatting with a teenager and they pretended to be someone they are not,can they be traced if the teenagers parents call with authorities?

I’m not too educated in computer crimes, but I doubt that the police (being the third party), could trace the suspect in question using the complainant’s computer. The chat logs can be saved for evidence and an investigation would ensue. I’m sure that if the police are equipped enough, they could reenter the chat room as an undercover teenager and arrange a meeting that would likely end in the arrest of the suspect.
