Well, most music videos could cost anywhere between 25,000-250,000$ (or more) to make. Not all money necessary going to the director.

They can make millions per year, if employed enough.

Well, Skype has also a chat option, you don’t necessarily need to call him. You can write him that you don’t have a microphone so you’d prefer writing.
